Background: In late 1998 I bought a PC and started making music, albeit just putting together tunes using ready made loops from sample CDs. My first "releases" we're under the alias Fire (see my discography page for more info about my "releases"). I started putting my music on the Internet around about 2000, initially using peoplesound, vitaminic, contactmusic, etc. Started checking out other artist's music & dropping reviews and stuff, but got v little response back + there was no sense of any "community spirit" in any of these places. Then I found Electromancer.com and things would never be the same again! I think I was the 19th artist to join. There wasn't a forum in the site's original guise, but as there were so few artist's it didn't really matter; communication was basically through listening & reviewing each other's music. I joined up not as Fire, but as Fudgedubnofunk (incidentally this was a name I invented in 1993 for NME's ill-fated 'Fantasy Bands' competition). I think the change in name was basically down to Fire being pretty boring ... Fudgedubnofunk sounded more original, more silly, more unique. Electromancer was GREAT because right from the beginning there was a HUGE array of different styles of music covered + this continued to grow & expand along with the website as the years passed. Ok, so I had this groovy name + a cool place to put music on the web, but for many years I can honestly say that (bar a few tunes) the music I made was kinda shockingly BAD! After being super-prolific for many years (looking back this was deffo a bad thing!) in 2004 I made just 3/4 new trax ... but this 'rest' seemed to multiply the creative juices and in 2005 I came up with the album 'TeeTHinG' - my music would not & will not be the same again!!!
